4 Beliefs That Fight Fear
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t you’re right” Henry Ford
Some of the most powerful public speakers I know started out with the most fear.
When I am coaching my clients I get them to focus on these four beliefs: they significantly reduce anxiety over public speaking and energizes them to a great performance.
1) Use your belief in your product or service so strongly that it overrides anxiety. Getting in touch with your passion about your product service or product takes the attention away from your own anxiety. Use your passion and belief to ignite your enthusiasm: which will flow naturally because of your belief that you can and do help others.
2) Use your belief that you’re the perfect person to be presenting these particular ideas and suggestions. Because you know how your service and product has helped others and you know it works! This is powerful and inspiring belief and energy
3) Use your belief and true desire to help and empower someone else. You know you make a difference and impact in the world. Being in service to others is an amazing source of inspiration. Believe in and share your knowledge with passion.
4) Believe in yourself and believe in your audience. Focus on helping your audience as a well-thought out presentation that influences your audience to take action based upon your energy and knowledge that your service and product truly does work.
It’s easy to let thoughts of fear enter in before giving a speech. Focus on the fear and you create more fear. Use your will power to put more attention on beliefs that will help you give a powerful and effective presentation. See yourself being of service, helping others see your-self doing it well with enthusiasm and energy.
Have fun speaking up, all the best Geoffrey

This is wonderful guidance, Geoffrey. Knowing you as I do, it is also pure Geoffrey!
The nub of it, to me anyway, is to focus on others for their benefit not your own. Use that as your MO, you’re more than halfway there.
If we could all master this, all of the time, think of the power in the world for good, for change, for peace…
